At QCS Staffing, we know that interviews can feel daunting, especially when you're considering a new career opportunity. That's why we've developed an interview process that is designed to be supportive, transparent and focused on helping you showcase your best self.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that recruiting open minded individuals who share our values, ambition and commitment to excellence is key to maintaining the culture that makes QCS Staffing such a great place to work.

Starting a new career journey can feel like a big step, so we've put together this guide to help you understand our interview process and approach each stage with confidence.

A Supportive Interview Experience

From your very first conversation with our Talent Acquisition team, our goal is to help you feel comfortable, informed and confident throughout the process.

Our Talent Acquisition specialists are there to support you every step of the way. They will answer questions, provide guidance and ensure you have everything you need to succeed.

We want every candidate to feel at ease, allowing their personality, skills and experience to shine through.

What to Expect During the Interview Process

Our interview journey is straightforward and gives both you and us the opportunity to determine whether we're the right fit for each other.

Talent Acquisition Pre-Screen and Qualification Call

Your journey begins with an informal conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team.

During this call, we'll discuss:

  • Your experience and career background
  • What you're looking for in your next role
  • Why you're interested in joining QCS Staffing
  • Any questions you may have about the opportunity

This is also an opportunity for you to learn more about our business and culture.

First Stage Interview

The first formal interview is a meeting with two Line Managers.

This stage focuses on:

  • Your previous experience
  • Your achievements and successes
  • Your motivations and career aspirations
  • How your skills align with the role

We want to hear about your journey so far and understand what makes you successful.

Second Stage Interview and Presentation

The final stage consists of a presentation and interview with the Line Manager and Head of Department or Associate Director.

This stage allows you to:

  • Demonstrate your preparation and communication skills
  • Showcase your industry knowledge and commercial awareness
  • Meet team members to get an honest view on the company and it’s culture in a non-pressured interview environment
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the role and department

It's also another chance for you to ask questions and ensure QCS Staffing is the right fit for your career goals.

Offer Stage

If successful, we'll move quickly to discuss the next steps and welcome you to the team.

Our aim is always to provide clear communication and feedback throughout the process, ensuring you know where you stand at every stage.

How to Prepare for Success

To help candidates perform at their best, we asked our Talent Acquisition team for their top interview preparation tips.

Research the Company

Take time to understand who we are, what we do and the markets we support. Reviewing the job specification and learning about your interviewers can help you feel more confident and prepared.

Know Your CV

Be ready to talk through your experience in detail. If you're applying for a sales-focused role, make sure you know your key figures, achievements and performance metrics.

Dress to Impress

First impressions matter. Choosing professional attire can help boost your confidence and demonstrate your professionalism.

Plan Your Journey

If you're attending an interview in person, make sure you know where you're going and leave plenty of time for travel. Arriving relaxed and on time helps set the right tone for the meeting.

Bring Your Questions

A notebook with pre-prepared questions can be incredibly useful. Interviews are a two-way conversation and asking thoughtful questions shows genuine interest in the opportunity.

Use the STAR Method

When answering competency-based questions, structure your responses using the STAR method:

  • Situation – Describe the scenario
  • Task – Explain your responsibility
  • Action – Outline what you did
  • Result – Share the outcome

This approach helps you provide clear and impactful answers.

Take Your Time

Don't feel pressured to answer immediately. It's perfectly acceptable to pause, think and ensure you fully understand the question before responding.

Let Your Personality Shine

Skills and experience are important, but so is cultural fit. At QCS Staffing, we pride ourselves on our collaborative and supportive environment. Our ‘one team’ value is something that we live up to every day, so we want to get to know the person behind the CV!

We want you!

Our supportive Talent Acquisition team is committed to making every candidate feel informed, comfortable and confident throughout the recruitment process.
